Good News for Canadian Businesses With Ecommerce Websites
Online sales rose up from $7.9 in 2005 to 12.8 billion in 2008! That's and increase of 62%! CBC.ca listed some of the factors behind this massive jump as follows:
- Canadian online shoppers aged 16 and over - 6.9 million in 2005 vs. 8.4 million in 2007
- Growing familiarity with online shopping
Statistics Canada also reported that more and more Canadians are using Ecommerce and Ecatalogue websites to research potential purchases and then purchasing the product at the traditional bricks-and-mortar retailer that offered the most value online.
