Featured Project > Tree Brewing: A Website with Character for a Brewery with Character
A few months ago we launched the new Tree Brewing Co. site, and the response has been phenomenal!
Tree Brewing Co. came to DotCom Media knowing that we could help them rebrand their online experience with a “fun” and “fresh” look.
After researching their culture, goals, current branding and target markets (and “testing” a few of their products), DotCom presented a funky, urban design that meshed well with the message of their product.
TreeBeer.com is another site powered by DotCom Media’s in-house content management system -- .cms. This iteration of .cms had a few extra features added, such as the custom “shout-out” box that you will see on some of the pages as well as the ability to showcase their wide range of products on every visit, and the ability to update any tidbit of content anywhere on their website.
Be sure to check out the site!

Domains > Your Name on the Net
Do you own your own domain name? Do you have the dot-com and dot-ca version of the domain name for your business? It only takes about 5 minutes each year to ensure you own your own domain name and after that, a minimal annual fee ensures you'll always have control of your name on the net.
These days, there is no excuse not to have your own domain. Whether you just want "yourname.com" to forward to "yourbusinesswebsite.com" or you want to set up an easy blog-based family website to share photos with grandparents, there are lots of reasons why owning your own domain name is important. Some businesses direct several domain names to their website so they can pinpoint what's working well in search engine positioning, online advertising campaigns and traditional advertising campaigns. If you own the dot-com of your business name, it is often helpful to identify yourself clearly as a Canadian business by claiming the dot-ca version of your domain name. This makes it clear to anyone who finds your site in search engine results that you are a (proudly) Canadian company, and is more likely to draw local customers to your website.
DCM > Looking Upward in a Downward Economy
(Kelowna, BC, Canada.) - Coming from what can only be described as the busiest few months in the company's history; DotCom Media is contemplating growth in a shrinking economy.
Almost six months after the well-received official release of DotCom Media's custom Content Management System, (.cms), the custom website design firm is managing more and larger projects than ever before.
“Creating solutions our customers need and want has been a huge factor in our business,” explained Nikki Csek, CEO of DotCom Media Inc. “Maximizing the relationships we have built and maintained with our over 400 + customers has been another huge factor. We built .cms as part of our focus to deliver services and solutions that are simple and easy to use and help deliver results to our customers. Businesses understand this is the next logical step to communicate with their customers and they are buying in.”
“We provide websites,” Csek continued, “that have strategies and solutions built into them. They are not only beautifully designed, they also provide a platform to communicate a compelling story and work for our customers to deliver measurable results. Our websites and solutions help our clients attract new business, capture qualified leads, convert leads, and sell their products and services. Our portfolio of completed projects reflects this as does our current roster of projects on our production floor.”
DCM > March in Review
After a cold and long winter, spring is finally here! The snow is melting, and the valley is starting to warm up again. Seems like the weather isn’t the only thing warming up this month either! Just the other day, the Dow Jones made its way back up to 8000, even amid the troubling auto industry. This, along with better than expected housing reports over the last few weeks, gives hope that the economy might be fighting back after the months of losing ground. This is going to be an exciting spring.
As for DotCom Media, we have lots of new and exciting things to share. Here are some of them:
We are very pleased to announce a new partnership with award-winning Kamloops custom-home builder, Braylin Contracting. DotCom Media is working with Braylin to design and build a website experience that features the projects that Braylin is currently working on and the projects they have completed in the past. The new website will also feature newly completed homes for sale.
We are also excited to announce a new partnership with Blue Mountain Vineyard. DotCom Media is working with Blue Mountain to help take their unique winery experience and their wines to the next level.
DotCom also recently partnered with Canada Safety Equipment to design and build an improved shopping and ordering experience for their current customers through their website CanadaSafety.com. The new website will also be designed to attract new customers throughout Western Canada to the products and service that Canada Safety provides.
Last (but not least), we are very pleased to announce a new partnership with Tinhorn Creek Vineyards. DotCom Media is working with Tinhorn to help target new markets and audiences online. Our role is to design and build a website experience that helps further grow Tinhorn's brand. The new website will also highlight Tinhorn's Oldfield's Collection Wines which are quickly building a brand and a reputation for quality of their own.
There are plenty more things to announce, but those are going to have to wait until next month!
