Only 2 Weeks Left! Who will win? The Nerd? The Super-Nerd? Or the Hot Nerd? You, the loyal reader decides!
For a month now, our 3 challengers have been duking it out online, using various tactics to increase their followers. It hasn't been easy. When the dust settles on the fight to the finish, a couple of our feerless challengers may require a Twitter Intervention!
We've extended the deadline for Twitter Takedown to coincide with the deadline looming on another local Twitter initiative - Twitter Business Day (more on that later). September 9th 2009 is the deadline, 09/09/09. We need you to put the issue at rest and stop all the chest puffing so we can get back to work. Here again are our challengers!

Ryan Lahay, “The Work-a-holic” - Ryan is a lead developer at DCM. He uses Twitter to communicate on his 3 passions – development, the business, and rock climbing.

Dennis Powers, “The Wilie Veteran” - Dennis is the sales / account manager at DCM. He uses Twitter to communicate on interactive media development on the Internet and other interactive media formats.

Dylan Tyre, “The Rookie” - Dylan is a junior programmer at DCM. He uses Twitter to communicate on the the cool web apps he's working with and social injustices he experiences around the world.
Make sure to checkout www.dotcommediainc.com/twittertakedown for more information about these three, and how to get involved in the cause!
Next month we will announce the winner!

News from the Central Okanagan Development Commission |
Join Us On TWITTER BUSINESS DAY Wednesday, September 9
Join the Central Okanagan Economic Development Commission (COEDC), the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce and the Okanagan Science & Technology Council (OSTEC) in the quest to get every business in the Central Okanagan on on Twitter, and make Kelowna the first city in the world to adopt Twitter for business.
The objective is to network the business community by sharing local news, events and insights into the region and help put the region on the map.
The simplest way to experience Twitter is to cut through the hype and explore Twitter first hand. Follow these steps:
1. Sign up at http://twitter.com/ (all you need is an e-mail address)
2. Follow http://twitter.com/TwitBizDay
3. Create your first "tweet" by saying "Hey @ TwitBizDay, I'm a business in Kelowna and want to support Twitter Business Day! #twbiz" and you'll be welcomed and helped by other Kelowna businesses/local tech community.
4. Follow Invest Kelowna: http://twitter.com/invest_kelowna
5. Check out http://www.connectingkelowna.com/

We are so excited about this project and all of the work that went into it, we want to give you another chance to check it out!
DotCom Media, in partnership with Legend Resorts, has just launched the new website for Veranda Beach
- a community of perfect family vacation beach houses, for sale or for rent, located on Lake Osoyoos in Washington. As an interesting side note client loyalty played a significant factor in DotCom Media securing this partnership. Our senior designer Spiro had developed the original Veranda Beach website while employed with another marketing firm. Being happy with his work, they sought him out wishing to work with him again.
"I was extremely flattered to have received the call from Jim Hammond." Spiro said. "Kelowna is a very close-knit community and I enjoy working with the same clients again and again. Especially ones like Legend which have a long-term vision and vested interest in developing the Okanagan in a positive way."... MORE
We'll call this a mini-Month In Review as Ryan Lahay is buried up to his neck in projects and I (Dennis Powers) am filling in on this article this month.
The first news item we should get out of the way is when you can expect to receive our monthly newsletter. We've been all over the map with newsletter releases over the last couple of months only because (thankfully) we've been very busy. I think it's safe to say you can expect our monthly newsletter at the end of every month rather than the beginning which is when it was typically distributed in the past.
New site launches for the summer include BlueMountainWinery.com, 1047FreeFM.com, and TeamGeen.com. So you can believe us when we say we've been busy!
Enjoy the rest of your summer and I hope to see you on Twitter! Follow me, not those other 2 guys! Lol...
